Isagenix Fundraiser Raises $20,000 for Childhelp

Isagenix Co-founders Jim and Kathy Coover present a check to Childhelp Executive Director John Reid for funds raised at fundraiser and throughout the year.

Chandler, Ariz. - Aug. 28, 2006 - An outpouring of love happened as Isagenix Associates donated more than $20,000 to attend the Childhelp fundraiser luncheon Aug. 20. Isagenix co-founders Jim and Kathy Coover presented a check of more than $44,000 to Childhelp at the event-which also included funds gifted over the year through Isagenix's Childhelp monthly donation program. Childhelp and Isagenix are united in their dedication to end the cycle of abuse.

According to Childhelp Executive Director John Reid, child abuse is reported on average every 10 seconds with more than three million reports anually. More than four children die each day in the U.S. due to child abuse," said Reid. "The majority are under the age of six."

The Cycle Can Be Broken

Holding back tears, child abuse survivor Lisa Bradley recounted her story at the event, "My father beat me with a leather belt until my back welted and bled. She planned her suicide. God sent me an angel the night I was going to kill myself," she said. "I saw a commercial with a phone number that kids could call if they'd been abused. At 3 a.m., the time I had planned on committing suicide, I instead dialed the number for Childhelp. I couldn't believe someone answered the phone."

Bradley attributes being alive today to that call. "My purpose is to be a voice for the silent victims. The cycle can be broken. Abuse, however, leaves scars that are long lasting. I know. I've been there. But now I know what it means to be free."

Learn, Earn and Return

"Isagenix is here to help," said Isagenix Philanthropic Consultant Peggie Pelosi-Gardiner. "We are in the business of transforming people's lives. Isagenix is a beacon for a new moral compass that will make a positive community impact."

Isagenix COO/CFO Jim Pierce, who also shared his story of abuse and homelessness as a youth added, "Thank you for reaching out to help kids in need."

During the event, Kathy Humpherys sang "We Can Make a Difference," a song dedicated to Childhelp that she collaborated on with fellow Associates Randi Escobar and Jamie Glassier.

"It's so important to understand the vision of Isagenix," said Humpherys. "We can make a difference for every girl and boy."

June and Chip Townsend of Tallahassee, Florida shared why they donate to Childhelp. We've seen the tremendous heart of Isagenix," they said. "We proudly support any cause that the company is behind."
